This is a great post from Logo Design Love looking at some great black-and-white logos that use negative space really effectively. It’s totally worth looking at them to pick up some principles to keep in mind when doing boards, I think.
My fave’s:
Egg'n'Spoon logo
Notice that it incorporates both the egg and the spoon into the E letterform. Seems simple, but it’s the subtle touches like this that are really effective.
ED Logo
Really powerful technique to create the “E” out of negative space. Awesome. This probably wouldn’t work without the heavy weight of the black. Line weight!
Yoga Australia Logo
I was all “ok, that’s cool but why…ooooh. That’s Australia in her leg there”. So that’s awesome.
